Autumn has arrived in the Annemount garden, and our children have been busy putting it to good use.

This week we harvested our potatoes and planted daffodil bulbs in our growing bed, ready to bloom in the spring. There is something rather magical about tucking a bulb into the soil in September and knowing that, come the warmer months, it will burst into colour.

Gardening teaches our children so much – patience, responsibility, and a real sense of wonder at the natural world. Watching something they have planted with their own hands grow and flower is a joy we love to share with them.

We’d warmly invite any child who would like to bring in a few extra bulbs to plant around our beds, so they can ‘own’ a little patch of the school garden and watch their own daffodils grow. It’s entirely optional, but always a delight.
