The Annemount Nursery offers a nurturing, varied and fun-filled Pre-Reception experience. The children feel safe and loved as they begin their educational journey and develop confidence and independence. The focus of the curriculum is to instil curiosity and a love of learning.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum includes all seven areas of learning: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
The children learn to become a considerate member of the class community and to think, enquire, anticipate, process and make sense of the world around them. Their lessons are enriched with stories, poetry, singing, arts and crafts, circle-time and creative play with a balance of practical activities and directed learning.
The youngest pupils have their own dedicated garden where the children explore, play, learn and even do some gardening! Each day, time is spent outdoors engaging in activities such as nature investigation, sport and team games.
Children are eligible to start Annemount when they are aged two and three quarters, often the term in which they turn three. The school offers the parents flexibility with options of mornings, mornings and lunch until 1pm, or full days until 3pm, for children who are able to manage the full day (with teacher consent). Parents are welcome to choose a schedule longer than mornings the term following their child’s third birthday.
The children can also choose extra-curricular activities such as Dance, Individual Singing lessons and Violin all within their school hours.
All pupils are in full-time school until 3pm from the term of their fourth birthday.
