An open day or private tour is the best way to get a real feel for a school, far more telling than any prospectus. If you’re planning to visit Annemount, here’s what to expect, and how to make the most of your time with us.

A warm welcome

From the moment you arrive, we want you to feel at home. You’ll be greeted personally, and you’ll usually have the chance to meet our Head Teacher and members of staff. We keep visits relaxed and unhurried this is about you getting to know us, not a hard sell.

Seeing the school in action

Wherever possible, we like visitors to see the school as it really is: children busy and happy, classrooms in full swing, and our garden being used. You’ll get a sense of the calm, friendly atmosphere that families tell us they notice straight away, and you’ll be able to picture your own child here.

Time to ask questions

Every family’s priorities are different, so bring your questions. Parents often ask us about:

• Class sizes and how well staff gets to know each child.
• A typical day, and how play and learning are balanced.
• Flexible hours, lunches, and after-school or holiday clubs.
• How children are prepared for their next school, and where our leavers go.

What to bring — and what not to worry about

There’s no need to prepare anything. Comfortable shoes for looking around and a list of your questions are all you need. You’re very welcome to bring your child along so we can meet them too; seeing how they respond to the environment often tells you a great deal.
