Continuing with the Foundation Stage, Reception children engage in a rich and balanced curriculum which is both practical and formal. Pupils are taught to read, write, count, investigate, problem-solve and communicate effectively. Individuality is respected and encouraged. The programme of learning is enjoyable and stimulating with opportunities
for each child to gain confidence and shine.
Children are welcomed to Reception when they are still four on the 1st September due to have their fifth birthday during the academic year. All Reception children are in school in full uniform for the full day until 3.00pm. Gymnastics, Drama, Computing, Music and Sport tuition are part
of the curriculum. Pupils may also elect to do after-school clubs as well as French, Dance, Chess and Violin.
All four year old children are eligible for the government grant.
