26th January 2026
We had a wonderful reunion with our 2025 graduates. They all came back on Wednesday for pizza and tea with so much to tell us about their new school experiences. We heard tales about life at Highgate, the Hall, Haberdashers, Aldenham, UCS, St Paul’s, Brooklands, Channing, Belmont and King Alfred’s! The school was buzzing with their energy and excitement. We miss them all of course and look forward to seeing them all again at our fete!
The 7+ Admissions Process
The 7+ process can feel daunting for families approaching it for the first time. When the time comes to make decisions about your child’s next steps, please be assured that we are highly experienced and fully prepared to support you throughout the process. As one parent recently shared, “Geraldine knows exactly where to place the child, so it’s the right school for them.” An important part of my role is maintaining close relationships with the heads of the schools we feed. We meet regularly throughout the year to share best practice and have an open dialogue about the 7+ process.
During the Spring Term of Year One I have meetings with parents to discuss options for future schools and we put together a short list of schools to visit and apply to. When drawing up this list, we consider various factors such as family preferences (co-ed v single sex, location, religious affiliation, etc) as well as our in-depth knowledge of our pupils, putting the child at the centre of the conversation. It is not unusual for a pupil to receive offers from more than one school.
For those entering or considering the 7+ process, rest assured that our tried and tested programme is designed to support you and your child every step of the way. This year’s outcome of offers are as strong as ever. I am always so proud of our pupils when I have conversations with Heads, who tell me consistently how courteous and well-rounded our pupils are. Congratulations to our Year Two pupils and their families.
