2026 is the National Year of Reading!

There is much to look forward throughout the term beginning with our Readathon initiative which we launch today, leading up to World Book Day in March.

This will be a challenge for all our pupils to read or be read to, depending on their age and stage- excluding their actual school reading scheme book.

For the launch our pupils will be making their own bookmark.

Each child will be given a Bingo card with different genres of books to read at home. When the card is complete, they will receive a book as a prize from school!

We would also like to encourage each child to have their own library membership so that they can choose library books rather than buying or ordering each book on line.

We will welcome photos of them in the library.

We will also welcome parent readers at the end of the school day. We will be in touch to schedule a date.
