Dance at Annemount reflects the school's commitment to ensure that children have opportunities for exercise, creativity and wellbeing. The children always enjoy expressing themselves to music.

Dance for Pre-Reception is an optional extra. All Reception, Year One and Year Two pupils have their Dance sessions as part of the curriculum.

Initially the pupils learn general Music and Movement. They develop listening, sequencing and coordination skills as well as an understanding of spatial awareness before they graduate into more formal dancing.

Year One and Year Two pupils explore the beginnings of choreography, expressing life experiences through Dance. They also acquire knowledge of basic balletic steps which are the foundation of the first Primary examination.
